A Message in the Forest
A walk in the woods has always been a refuge for me. It’s a place to reflect and relax from a world of constant stress and devisiveness. This day I was simply enjoying the cool shade that the forest brought on a hot summer day.
Summer is always a hard time for photographers. In the fall, the forest is painted in color showcasing all of nature’s wonder. Winter strips away all the noise and chaos leaving the trees slient in the cold. Spring has the promise of flowers finding sunlight on the forest floor. Summer is nothing but green as far as the eye can see.
Light and shadow.
These are the things that brings out the beauty of summer. Today was a perfect summer day to find a perfect photo.
Light filters through the canopy, peppering the floor with pools of light.
Walking along the path, I can’t help but think about how crazy the world has become. People yelling politics at each other. A pandemic plaguing the world. Lost in thought I almost passed a message left behind on the path.
Let us not forget to take care of the place that
brings us PEACE when everything’s gone mad.
A simple message left behind by someone perhaps not so dissimilar from myself. I snapped a photo and moved on. It was only later, as I looked at the photos that I took that day, that I realized it had more meaning. A tree growing alongside a paved path. A Contrast of Nature vs Mankind. Don’t let the pettiness of man destroy what brings peace.
It was with these thoughts that I came upon my perfect photo.
